Traffic Concerns
The FCA board was asked at the October 2002 meeting to help find solutions to an increase in traffic-related problems in the community. Discussion led to many more problems - some related to each other and some not. We decided on an approach to define all the problems so that, as an association, we could speak with one voice to our government representatives about relief. The following sequence lead us to writing "Fauntleroy Neighborhood Traffic Concerns." This document has been mailed to Mayor Greg Nickels, City Council members, department heads and Washington State Ferries. We have asked that experts be assigned to review the document, provide us with an assessment, propose additional solutions, and work with our steering committee to implement those that are most promising. We would like to meet with representatives of the Mayor's Office and appropriate managers from the Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Police Department, and Washington State Ferries to discuss what steps will be taken to address Fauntleroy's traffic problems and protect the safety of its citizens. |
