Fauntleroy Community Association Minutes
November 10, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President Bruce Butterfield at 7 pm. In attendance were board members; Phil Sweetland, Ann Dunbar, Kim Petram, Gary Dawson, Vicki Schmitz-Block, Gordon Wiehler, Brent Spraker, and Kathleen Dellplain. Also in attendance were Lynn Olson, Kevin Wooley, and Martha Tuttle and Susan Hildreth from King County Wastewater. Introductions were made and the minutes were accepted as written.

Kim Petram gave a short report on the Fauntleroy Fall Festival. Everything went well, it was a beautiful day, and attendance was high. The FCA gave away lots of balloons. $604.00 was collected in the donation stations.

Kevin Wooley updated us on the purchase of the Fauntleroy School. Negotiations are underway for an additional piece of the playground. The Fauntleroy Community Service Assn. is setting up a board to manage the Fauntleroy School Building. At least one member from the Fauntleroy Community Assn is needed, also, some members from the community at large. We are urged to nominate candidates for the board.

Martha Tuttle and Susan Hildreth from King County Wastewater explained the wastewater projects. There are two projects, a combined sewer outflow and pump station improvements. The combined sewer outflow (CSO) will be storage facility such as a tank to hold excess storm runoff and release it slowly for treatment. A community meeting will be held in February to present the options and take comments. The pump station will be upgraded to increase the capacity to 33 million gallons per day, an emergency pump, generator and fuel storage for the emergency pump. The new pump station will be larger than the present station with odor control, new pumps and controls, construction may take two years. Public notice will be given for residents to remove their boats before construction begins. As much art work as possible will be preserved. Beach access is unknown at this time. The vent pipes may be disguised as art work, if budget allows.

Food Fest is on schedule.

The Feb-March mailing will be from the new data base. The annual report will be included in the dues letter to be sent separately from the newsletter.

No SW District meeting report.
