Business Meeting Minutes

Fauntleroy Community Association Minutes

July 14, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President Bruce Butterfield at 7:00. The minutes were approved as written. In attendance were Vicki Schmitz-Block, Phil Sweetland, Bruce Butterfield, Gary Dawson, Kathleen Dellplain, Vlad Oustimovitch, Brent Spraker, and Patrick Sand.

The Southwest District Council did not meet this month.

The treasury report was sent earlier by e-mail. Phil Sweetland reports that the dues are on target for the budget.

The way finding kiosks design is still being finalized. Some place names must be simplified because there are still too many words for the size of the blades.

Gary Dawson reports that the long range Ferry plan has been finalized. A 2 ½% fare increase is coming. The overhead loading ramp for pedestrians will be built in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act at the Fauntleroy dock.

There is no data base update.

Bruce will check with the Food Fest core providers to plan for next year.

No report on the Fall Festival.

The Barton Street Pump Station may be a little bigger and higher than the original plan. There will be parking separate from Cove Park. There was no answer on the future of the house and property adjacent to Cove Park. The property was purchased by King County as part of the pump station expansion. Martha Tuttle, the project director, has requested ideas for retention pond locations.

A temporary Newsletter editor is still needed. The vice president’s position is still unfilled too.

Submitted by Kathleen Dellplain, secretary.
