Business Meeting Minutes

Fauntleroy Community Association

June 9, 2009

President Bruce Butterfield called the meeting to order at 7:00. A celebratory toast to Bruce’s upcoming wedding was made. Introductions were made. The May minutes were approved.

There was no new business on the Fauntleroy School Purchase. A letter of support was sent to Paul Fischburg at the Seattle Office of Policy and Management.

An interim editor for the Fall Newsletter is still needed. So far there have been no volunteers.

Ann Dunbar reports that there have been about 50 membership renewals from the Follow-up letters and calls.

Outreach, we will try to contact more new neighbors, and residents in under represented areas of Fauntleroy. Our materials will be at many West Seattle events to reach as many residents as possible. We are now in Facebook too.

Gary Dawson reports from the SW District council that the Seattle Pedestrian Master Plan is working to make Seattle more pedestrian friendly by building more sidewalks. There may be more sidewalks built in Fauntleroy.

The Ferry system is still struggling with their budget. Two 64 car ferries may be built for Tahlequah and Port Townsend. No cuts in service or route changes are planned.

The City Council will hold a Town Hall meeting in the Hall at Fauntleroy on June 25th. The meeting will begin at 6:30. All are urged to attend.

The treasurers report was previously sent by e-mail.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:15.
