The minutes were reviewed and approved.

Phil Sweetland sent the July financial report by email. He mentioned that Cove Park has a balance for upkeep.

It was reported that Cove Park is looking good. The planting plan is complete and will be implemented at the work party in October. More trees may be added in the future.

Vlad Oustimovitch reported that the Southwest District council is working on maps for walking trails and public stairs.

Linda Ann Cox presented a report about the dilapidated houses on Lincoln Park Way. Two homes have been “under construction” and vacant for over ten years. No one could remember ever seeing them occupied. She requested the Fauntleroy Community Association send a letter of complaint to the mayor. A suggested letter was supplied for FCA endorsement.

Kim Petram, Vice President sent a request that the fall Festival receive a larger contribution from the FCA. Phil Sweetland reviewed the budget. It was moved and passed to increase the FCA contribution to $500.00. Volunteers are also needed to man the Fauntleroy Community Association booth and make balloons. Susan Lantz-Dey and Vicki Schmitz-Block said they would help and Gordon Wiehler will work a late shift.

Traffic Project Grant Application – The traffic projects for the FCA grant application include traffic revision for the business triangle to make the Brace Point Way side one way and change to parallel parking on that street. The sidewalk along Brace Point way will be completed. The traffic circle at 47th and Brace point way could be changed to further slow traffic. The sidewalk path at Cloverdale Street will also be improved for pedestrian safety. Leon Harmon mentioned an article in the Seattle Times with sidewalk rankings. Email notices will be sent to FCA members to attend the meeting and Open House at Youngstown Community Center Theater ( 4408 Delridge Way South) and vote for our projects.

Vicki Schmitz-Block reported from the Fauntleroy Children’s Center Board meeting that the FCC is seeking possible new sites in case they have to move from the Fauntleroy School. They hope they will be able to stay put after the School board makes its decision about the disposition of the Fauntleroy School. It was suggested they contact Jim Ferris for assistance.

Bruce Butterfield adjourned the meeting at 8:40 to attend the fund raiser for the Fauntleroy Fall Festival being held at the Guadalajara Restaurant.
