Fauntleroy Community Association Minutes

February 9, 2010

The meeting was called to order by President Bruce Butterfield at 7 pm. In attendance were board members; Martha Callard, Phil Sweetland, Ann Dunbar, Gary Dawson, Brent Spraker, Susan Lantz-Dey, Vicki Schmitz-Block, Martin Westerman, and Kathleen Dellplain. Also in attendance were Patrick Sand and Lynn Olson. The minutes from the January 12, 2010 meeting were approved as revised and corrected.

There was a discussion of the upcoming mailing for membership renewals. Renewal invoices will go out soon.

The current board members agreed to serve for another year. Nominations for Vice-President are still open. FCA members will be encouraged to participate more.

Gordon Wiehler sent word that the application for a pocket park at Brace Point Dr and 46th has been submitted. The office for Emergency Management will also participate in the Annual meeting and Food Fest.

Lynn Olson reports that the Food Fest is on schedule. New food vender participants will be the Dreaming Dane and The Kenney. Kathleen will contact Canine Casa again. Gary will pick up the cake from The Original Bakery on the 23rd. Kim Petram will be in charge of door prizes. Vicki will talk to Thriftway about flowers and greens.

Phil Sweetland reports that the revised data base is up and running. The labels can include paid through, complementary, or lifetime. The revised database will be portable.

The 2010 budget was presented. Vicki Schmitz-Block moved that we accept it, Gary Dawson seconded. All present members voted Aye.

Bruce Butterfield will prepare welcome letters to all new City officials.

Susan Lantz-Dey reports that the Rapid Ride for Fauntleroy has been delayed to 2012. The bus stations at the Fauntleroy Ferry are being redesigned to be ADA compliant. Design and construction should be completed this year. No traffic light is planned for the Fauntleroy Ferry dock. Discussions are ongoing about the location and frequency of stops. Susan will also look into getting crossing flags for Fauntleroy.

Martha Callard reports that the Newsletter editors will be out of town for the summer and fall issues. Volunteers are requested. Marty Westerman may do one issue.

Marty Westerman has been working with the pavement crew to repair the road at 47th and Roxbury and 46th and Brace Point Drive. Water under the roadway weakens the pavement and should be drained away before any more repaving. A drainage plan is needed. Marty is working to co-ordinate the city departments.
